Angie: Tell us about yourself
Tkay: My name is Takudzwa Chendambuya from Zimbabwe. A student in his final year pursuing Media at the Great Zimbabwe University. I am a very fortunate young man, who at only the age of 23years has had a wonderful working experience in various organisations.
Angie: That’s great! What made you quit deejaying?
Tkay: Well I did not quit as such but I am aiming for great and greener pastures. I just exited from the organisation that I was working for and decided I needed to take a new step within the media fratenity.
Angie: What is the best lessson that deejaying has taught you?
Tkay: Well being a DJ you don’t know the audience you are engaging with so you tend to be very mindful and careful about what you say when you are on air. So it taught me to be a very wide researcher, factual, mindful, jovial and a hard working person.
Angie: Tell us how life as a presenter feels like
Tkay: Hard, tough and interesting are the three words I can use to define life as a television personnel .
Angie: You are also in digital marketing, what does it entail?
Tkay: Well with how advances in technology have plorifarated, digital marketing has been on the toll. It is basically the main reason why I dropped tools from being a DJ. I now want to settle in the digital marketing proximity and build a formidable brand . So basically I market establishing and established companies over channels like youtube and instagram TV . Its realy a tough job but paying. I walk door to door, aproaching companies and launchng my proposals to them. In most cases I have been successful in the deals that I have managed to get , so yes I now want to settle in this industry. Hoping to establish a brand of my own archiving the goals that have been set.
Angie: I love your determination. What is the biggest challenge in digital marketing?
Tkay: Competition has always been a challenge in almost all businesses, so to counter this like I said, you need to build a formidable brand, which no one can doubt but embrace.
Angie:Traditional advertising is dying. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Tkay: Well interesting question. With hard work and determination, I I see a better me from what I am today. That’s all I can say.
Angie: If you were given a chance to go back to highschool, would you?
Tkay: Hahaha. My Highschool gave me one of the greatest moments. I can be childish and I’d say yes, why ? To have fun .
Angie: It seems like highschool wasn’t hard for you.
Tkay: Yes, it wasn’t hard. I never made education complicated. It just takes a flexible mind. You reminded me of something. My best buddy and I only went to the library for 15 minutes maximum but trust me every 15 minutes of my library experience was very important .
Angie: People like promotional advertisements. What do you do to ensure people enjoy the ads and still get the message?
Tkay: Well I realised my voice is the best thing I have and so when I create promotional advertisements especially those that need voice overs, I try my best to keep it in it’s best shape so that whoever is watching and listening has very little chances of ignoring . If you discover your strength utilise it, and make it your identity.
Angie: Any good advice you have there, maybe I’ll use my voice on the adverts one day too.
Tkay: If its good, go for it .
Angie: What keeps you going?
Tkay: The creator of all things on earth and above.
Angie: parting shot
Tkay: Be a person of discovery and literate it. Don’t die with an unworked idea, experiment with it until you get it right .
Angie: How can people reach you via social media?
Tkay: @takuecheinz on Instagram and @Takudzwa Chendambuya on twitter.
