Spotify’s Daylist Feature Now Available for Users in Kenya

Spotify has introduced ‘daylist’, a tailor-made playlist that auto-updates based on one’s mood changes daily throughout the week.

The music streaming service, with 226 million subscribers and 574 million-plus users globally, launched Daylists back in September, as a more well-timed representation of your music tastes

They however announced its rollout in Kenya on Wednesday.

“This new, one-of-a-kind playlist on Spotify ebbs and flows with unique vibes, bringing together the niche music you typically listen to during particular moments in the day or on specific days of the week. It updates frequently between sunrise and sunset with a series of highly specific playlists made for every version of you. It’s hyper-personalized, dynamic, and playful as it reflects what you want to be listening to right now,” Spotify said.

It follows last year’s unveiling of an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered DJ that live-mixes music tailored based on a listener’s taste and listening habits.

What is a Spotify Daylist?

Daylists are algorithmically-curated playlists, regularly updated to collect “the niche music and microgenres you usually listen to during particular moments in the day or on specific days of the week,” the service says.

The feature create highly specific playlists made for every version of you.  It’s hyper-personalized, dynamic, and playful as it reflects what you want to be listening to right now.

It analyses your music listening pattern and suggests the perfect track on specific days at specific times, and gets updated between every sunrise and sunset. Again, it will be a highly specific playlist, which will be different for individuals.

Users can also save and share a specific Daylist with friends and family that they like. Not just that, users can also share the ready-made photo of their Daylist along with social media stickers and different backgrounds.
