Education does not fix poverty

Education was established to help us build opinions and have points of views on various aspects in life. The number one priority that Horace Mann, the founder of schools, had in mind was, that education would come in and help people grow jobs from now, have a living out of it. Education was meant to curve off poverty. This has not been the case for it does not have an element of creativity and individuality I am not coming at Horace Mann but education emboldens mastery of concepts rather than creativity.

Albert Eistein once said, “Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole live believing it’s stupid. School system has been intellectual abusive for it does not care that we are all different and have been equipped with different abilities. Every scientist will tell you that no two brains are the same and every parent with two or more children will confirm the claim.

Again, education system has not changed. It’s very vibrant that today problems were not yesterday’s problem. Back then, things were different and the world has progressed. We can’t just solve problems of today with solution of yesterday. Education system has not progressed a bit yet life has. We need to be taught how to deal with today’s era disputes and given today’s era way out. We have progressed in our mobility, in our communication, to mention just but a few, yet our education system is still the same as the one taught to our fore fathers.

Education can be used as tool of fixing poverty. This is accomplished when most people go to school to learn more about what they are interested in and use the knowledge acquired from school to be at the top of everything they do. It is very precise to say what we learn becomes part of who we are. Education also gives as freedom and by doing so, we do not rely on anyone else to navigate in the series of life. As George Washington said, “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom”.

Education also helps us to think on our own. That helps us in solving various problems as they come.

I’m not here to say that the education system is a surplus of time but I believe that they are elements to it that need to be changed if we want poverty to be overthrown. The spirit should be bringing each student together by giving each and everyone a chance to do impressive things with their lives. Let us be a world where a fish is no longer forced to climb trees.
