GROWING WITH THE PASSION – MEET TONY NJOROGE, AN ACTOR SINCE HIS WISDOM TEETH ERA
Tony Njoroge, 25 years old, is an actor who has climbed his ladder from the floor. It was registered in his wits at a very young age that he would one day become an actor. It’s a passion that has found room in his heart. He shares with us how his journey has been.
TYM: Tell us how you started this journey
Tony: I started acting at a tender age. It all started when my big brother and his friends couldn’t let me play with them cause I was a minor, So I would borrow 20 shillings from him and go watch movies at the cinema hall. I would spend the whole day there to a point of getting into trouble with mum.
One time in standard 3 my CRE teacher requested volunteers to go forward and act out a parable we had just studied in class. I was the first to step up and the rest as they say Is history.
TYM: What inspired you?
Tony: I was inspired by my mum who raised me and my big brother on her own. I wanted to start earning soon so I can relieve her off some duties.
TYM: What was your dream career when you were young?
Tony: up dream career then was to be a teacher, a police officer, a lawyer, and so many other career choices. Then I realised as an actor I could be all this things. So I never looked back.🙂
TYM: How many films have you gotten featured in?
Tony: So far I have done close to 20 films including cameos in Varshita and shit happens web series
TYM: Have you won any awards?

In 2017 I was nominated for best supporting actor at the riverwoods academy awards held at The Kenya Cultural Centre. But I lost the award to another amazing actor so yeah, am bitter about that, But I will be returning to claim what Is mine. Watch this space.
TYM: Which animal defines you?
Tony: The animal that defines me will have to be an Eagle. Always watching always calculating. I also heard an interesting bit, that eagles outlive their intended life span. That is me right there.
TYM: Whats your current project?
Tony: Currently I have done a film that Will show at Mt Kenya tv on 16th and 17th december 2018. I will be playing Jack Muiru, the son of a troubled couple who returns from abroad and transforms their lives. Its a very witty film full of life lessons.
TYM: Will you ever quit acting?
Tony: Will I ever quit acting? Simple. Will I ever live without breathing?
TYM: Partying short
Tony: Someone told me this, “There is nothing more common than unsuccessful men with talent. “
