Ways to honour your mother (this mother’s day)

We’ve all had an experience with our mothers. Some, the greatest moments on earth, others could not have been a perfect road. On this day, we put our differences away to come together and honor our purest love.

1)Let her know you understand everything that she has done for you.
It will make her very blissful to know that you recognize her efforts .A little gratitude will brighten her day. This one should be played by ear. A hug, a phone call or perhaps a note slipped well in her handbag will be a perfect gesture to let her know that you see her. ‘…You may not realize it but I thank God for you every day’. ‘… I am strong because I am raised by a strong woman…’

2)Put her needs before yours
I identify that you were planning to sleep in ,this Sunday because you don’t have anything or anywhere important to drive to. It is a perfect day to create your mother her most wanted pancakes and serve her tea. The recipe to any good food is love and her perfect smile will be worth trolling around the kitchen. She is special henceforth, she ought to feel that way.
3)Uphold her legacy
Our mothers are the biggest cheerleaders -whether we are talking about success or we are reembracing our failures. She has been with you all through. Teaching you how to be strong. Consider the good qualities she installed in you and honour her investments by cultivating that which grew in you. Bless the world with those gifts because nothing makes her happier.

4)Grace her with prayers
you’ve all heard that no one is as powerful as a praying mother. At times, she just needs to be taken care of.put her in God’s favor, grace and mercy always and its better when you kneel down with her and grace her with Gods blessings. Many are times mothers go through things they don’t share so it will be wise to honour her by constantly placing her in God’s mercy.

5)Never underestimate the power of ‘I love you’
We being Africans, this is not a word that walks around our homestead as much. We often take it for granted that she knowns how much you love her.Tell her and wait for her smile to emerge from her perfectly shaped face and grace the day. I know they say that action speaks louder than words but again, it’s not that words are less important.

6)Forgive her
Stop biting her up because of your upbringing. She did and she continuesto do the very the she can for you. She might have read your school diary one day and you feel like that is the basis of you not opening up to her. She missed a certain school event in middle school and the bitterness towards that keeps on pilling up, later, causing your relationship to tremble. No human is perfect and forgiving your mother is a gift that she is yawning for.

We ought to honour our mothers every day. Today is just another day on the calendar set aside for them but our love continues to grow. From our crew, we appreciate every mother. Remember, life begins when you wake up and love your mother.
