TO THE GUY WHO WILL MARRY ME

Miss to Mrs…

Isn’t just a transition,

It’s change of status after a pre-season,

Which needs time to prepare before the in-season,

If I make a hasty decision, I could end up  off-season with a peculiar reason.

Give me time to finish unfinished business,

I’d want to come through  in awesomeness,

My head is full of empty thoughts,

Ones I need to clear before I move on.

I’m not very sure,

If you can measure up

To my already complicated life,

The only remedy is my sarcastic laugh,

Does he really know what he’s saying?

What is love to a girl who’s been slaying?

I hope you’re not full on conditions,

On how you’re expected to treat your wife thanks to them traditions,

I’m just being me ‘Kathlyne’

I don’t mean to cut the line.

If it’s me you choose,

I’m letting myself loose,

If it’s in the name of love,

Then let’s take the next move,

Come to my parents and ask for my hand in marriage,

To reduce the chances of  being stressed and having a miscarriage,

I want my journey to motherhood to be of ease,

Especially in the morning wet breeze.

Come, come and let me be yours behold,

In your arms to hold,

To be your baby mama,

And you my kids papa,

To lay a strong foundation for a just begun journey,

With or without money,

Let’s begin our life without a penny,

The first fruit of my womb I’d name him Lenny,

This will always keep me warm in the night.

Don’t give up on me,

Look it’s our kids who rendered me fatty,

My once sexy body,

Has become this plump at the expense of my children who are my joy,

So if you want to leave because of this,

I’m not begging you to stay with us,

We’ll be fine either way,

We didn’t depend on your pay,

So I guess we done here.

Mama, why is daddy leaving?

What need I explain to the kids on the wall leaning,

Crying and wailing,

I tell them we’ll here waiting,

For you to come back home where you belong.

So I learn later you got a little sexy lass than me,

The last time you made a stop over at her place to pee,

How considerate of you to choose to ‘cut’ Lyne

That’s how you use to call me you know ‘Kathlyne’ to Lyne,

I should have chosen to be *Kaite*,

It wouldn’t have been a bait,

So lover boy,

It’s just a matter of time because you’ll be asked to buy a toy,

At the end of it all,

You still make a call,

Looks like you can’t do without me.

Love,

Move,

Come back to me despite all your flaws,

What we had was flawless,

Like a prodigal son you come back home,

It was with me you had a home,

I’ll pardon my pride,

Taking this stride,

Hope life was fair,

You couldn’t even afford fare,

To a place you left with a car,

Now you come back with a scar,

In my arms you lie,

The same woman you told a lie,

Guess this is what ‘For better or for worse’ means

Love,

Hubbie,

These are your children,

They never gave up on you,

So be their strength now,

Unlike tradition,

I choose to follow my jurisdiction,

Dad we always waited for you,

And still are waiting for you.

So dear husband,

When you come around with the band,

This is the kind of woman,

You a lucky man,

Would have found.

I keep it at that,

The priceless sacrifice of being a ‘Woman’
