I disliked the fact that I would always come home and feel even worse not miserable but not even the slightest bit of content. With what I have, with what I didn’t have with what I really wanted. She always creeped me out with this mentality of wanting to be richer and richer everyday. I mean don’t get me wrong its in the core system, to be comfortable in this lavish viewed cost life we live in.

But with every breath she took she felt like she wasn’t doing enough to get there. There beyond the stars, beyond where her eyes wound to see.It was some sort of determination to be greater and to be better everyday that made her not acknowledge the beauty of every little milestone she overcame. But now all this is shuttered because, well life is short. No criteria to measure ones length can be applied. I mean some die after any year of existence some a couple of decades more. She had to take it all on herself. I ask myself why but the only reasons I could get were that she blamed herself for the worlds misfortunes. For her existence not so loud she judged herself.

Her disorders defining.

Mental health even though not usually seen as a core feature necessitates human existence. Anxiety, depression, nervousness all of this covered by some mask of fake harsh lives.

Doing more harm than good, these lifestyles and trends we so much admire and praise not   necessarily their honor and splendor but for their lavish nature and attraction to the eye are a growing massacre to this young generation. Unnecessary peer pressure and conviction owing to this greatly many young lives are lost to this ugly situations.

I mean she just died because she failed at one obstacle on her path. Who was to blame? Was she being selfish? I mean she never had the afterthought, or did she? Her loved ones traumatized, not over her death, but over the fact that they could have done something. All she needed was someone to cheer her on, to ascertain her that she was doing her best. To hear her out when all she could think of was quitting. To embrace her flaws and acknowledge her confidence and hardwork. All she needed was that one person who could believe in her more than she always had.

Suicide succumbed to under any circumstances is a fail on the society as a whole.

Depressed dreams and oppressed actions. Is it that life is less valued or worse yet underprivileged? Conversations don’t seem to add up because at the end of the day the main goal is to live and to exist because all roads don’t seem to go in their direction. Is it that its for the strong hearted to fair while the rest diminish in horrific confessions of doubt within themselves.

Reach out and save a life no matter how small, the pride is a very huge price to pay and no doubt in one way or another one of us must be paying it. When it comes to matters of the heart no feeling can surpass inner peace and contentment.

Enough said, assurance that you are adequate on whatever grounds, flaws or not is essential however insignificant cause we all need reassurance that we are good, we can be greater and we are doing our best so far.

JOAT is the best way to describe this hardworking young Legendary rapper. He asserts that he could be on a notch higher level if only he knew how to manage his finances, Valentine Grace catches up with him.

Tell us briefly about yourself
I go by the name mc dollar aka the 23 savage, born and raised in Nairobi…I work with a record label called blacjac records.

When did you start rapping?
My rapping career began way back in highschool, I used to have a crew by the name lyrical criminals though it wasn’t that serious, we performed at funkies and school events…

What genre of music do you do?
Basically I think my music is really versatile, am dropping a mixtape late April wich has a touch of everything from trapsoul, hard mummble rap, Afropop name it…

Apart from music, what else do you do?
Mmmhh say am everywhere like ubber, am in the act of perfecting my skills as a videographer from video sets to editing, I Mc at events and clubs, am also a pet lover, I have a company called Nairobi K9 unit, I breed security dogs.

If you were to change something in your past, what would it be?
Though music goes hand in hand with party life, I wasted a lot of cash turning up back then, cash which I could have invested or something, so if i was to change something it’s got to be proper cash management which am working on…

What motivates you to continue doing what you do?
My mama has been really supportive, People I hangout with appreciate  what I do…guys be like ‘you are a star ni venye uko kando ya jua watakuonaje’ statements like that keep me going, Music is like food to my soul i cant stay hungry.

Tell us in a glimpse about your song ‘money on my mind’
Money on my mind, was like a group intro song to the music scene, apart from solo projects, I have a crew called cheddar bang gang voodooseller, droopy khalahari and me inclusive. The group is a bit huge apart from artiste, we harbour dancers, producers, directors, event organizers etc.

What’s your biggest plan this year?
my biggest plan is to go commercial, I am currently working on my videos which will be released on intervals depending on my management at blacjac records.

If you had one message to your ex, what would it be?
hehe that’s a tricky question or you mean my immediate ex, ‘you played yourself, this could be us.’

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

Last words
I would like to big up my producers official pbs, passybwoy, lvizzle beats, the inhouse team dollar, my fans and  my CEO CJ.

Today more than ever I am confused about the truth about wealth. Well, how is it gauged? What method I used? And more often, how is it acquired?

Starting off, a friend when asked about wealth in terms of monetary value could have heard some relation with the family we were born in. Say for example, one is born in a politics oriented family, this person is graced and groomed to continue his family’s lineage of successful politicians. What of a son born into farmers and squatters? his chances of succeeding are more often left for luck.

Our parents growing up in the village worked hard for their children, that precisely referring to this generation, so as to better their lives. With regard to the standards of living of the present day life, most families are middle class economy. This proved that more times than usual nowadays our lineage does not have to necessarily determine our future endorsements.

Our generation is based on wealth being in terms of good health, proper housing, comfortable lifestyle and most relevantly a bit of something to show success.
Is it that unlike all those before us we no longer have bigger goals to achieve other than making money?

All in all, wealth in the new day to me, is about being better everyday, no matter how small or insignificant.
