Each and every year, the 14th of February is one special day for most couples around the world. This is signified by the much exchange of flowers, candy, chocolate, laughter, gifts, the dress code being red or a touch of red and lots of surprises. This is all in the name of St. Valentine.

But the question we ask is, who is this St. Valentine and where did all these so held onto traditions have originated from? Some are added back to the ancient Roman rituals to the customs of Victorian island

One legend suggested that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

While in custody it is believed he used to write to a young girl who secretly came in to see him. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter signed “From your Valentine,” an expression that is still in use with our world.

Some also believe that Valentine’s Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine’s death or burial.

There also was a pagan festival made to commemorate ‘lupercalia’ whereby priests would sacrifice a goat, for fertility, and a dog, for purification. They would then strip the goat’s hide into strips, dip them into the sacrificial blood and take to the streets, gently slapping both women and crop fields with the goat hide.

Far from being fearful, Roman women welcomed the touch of the hides because it was believed to make them more fertile in the coming year. Later in the day, according to legend, all the young women in the city would place their names in a big urn. The city’s bachelors would each choose a name and become paired for the year with his chosen woman. These matches often ended in marriage.

Lupercalia was deemed “un-Christian”–at the end of the 5th century, when Pope Gelasius declared February 14 St. Valentine’s Day.

It was not until much later, however, that the day became definitively associated with love. It was also believed that in France and England that February 14 was the beginning of birds’ mating season, which added to the idea that the middle of Valentine’s Day should be a day for romance.

By the middle of the 18th, it was common for friends and lovers of all social classes to exchange small tokens of affection or handwritten notes. Have you written your letter? Have you bought a gift? Have you reminded someone of how you love them?

Hoping love comes and is embraced on this day as we keep in mind and heart why we love each other.

The aura is a field of energy that surrounds every human being. It is, in some way, composed of various colours. It also tends to change to a dark or dull colour when one undergoes sickness, emotional challenges, fear or stress.

Have you ever asked why some people are good at making friends and are able to draw together people just because of how they conducted the themselves or because of their personalities.

Most of us, fear doing things or approaching people just because we fear the other persons reaction to our approach. This depends on a wide area of factors that need to be addressed and exercised in our lives.

Have you ever asked yourselves why at times it gets so hard to withdraw your attention from someone within a room due to just how they portray themselves? Or why it is easy to notice a person’s character even before talking to them. This happens to have some effect on our aura.

What do we need to do to keep this energy glowing?

TAKE CARE OF YOUR THOUGHTS
Thoughts that cross our minds daily are what matter most. They have a positive impact on relations we do have almost daily. We probably have heard this somewhere that whatever you think, you become. This is quite true and also what you imagine, you create.

One who sees themselves as successful is able to make it happen in real life. Imagine yourself being so influential that anyone you interact with will always be willing to again see you once again or wish for more time with you. Be that person.

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT YOU
Statements made about you could also be a measure of who or what you could be. Most of us in our lifetime have received compliments on how good or perfect they are at doing something, or how spectacular they are at convincing people, or their prowess in a certain field.

This should be a yardstick on finding your inner self and working to better yourself off than before. Lock out the negative comments and focus on the many positive ones you get.

MEDITATION
Meditation is quite important in a way we get to relax our minds. This gives us the ability to let go of the negative energy that’s built up within us and focus on positive energy to take us through the day.

This helps us to move around in peace and be able to attract people closer to us based on the positive aura that is active. This makes it easy to relate with others around us in an effective way.

TAKING IT EASY
At times, we are known to create problems or imaginations that do not exist. Example is when one has a headache and sweats alot almost daily and always rushes to taking pain killers without realising we need water for our bodies to keep them hydrated and cool.

This happens to us that instead of keeping calm we invent things in our minds that never exist. Instead, focus on the positive side of things. Definitely some situations will require to shed some light on the negatives but still have a positive approach and attitude.

Keep calm in all situations not to affect peace generated from within.

PEACE WITH ONESELF
Peace built within is of importance. This allows us to know and understand how we work, how well we relate with others, what we are good at, how we influence us and good knowledge of how others think of us.

Peace also would come from knowing what helps us be relaxed or keep calm in a war like environment with yourself.

We should have repartee statements about ourselves by people close to us sound again and again once we go to rest. This kind of how many people you influenced, or met and were encouraged with how you related with them.

Having these few steps maintaned would be beneficial in a way that we are able to accomplish much that we have targeted in a more peaceful and relaxed way.

Sashaying on the runway has invariably been her dream ever since she was a young girl. She learnt the skills of cat walking while in primary school, trained while in highschool and now the crown of miss kips 2018/2019 is on her bonce.

She pursues cosmetology, you can already tell she is in her trail to achieving her dreams. Beauty, music, fashion and style is what summarises her life.

She also has a voice of a ‘whitney houston’, a voice that she uses mostly when she has leisure time on herself. The support from her parents on both fields is what keeps her zeal high and charged daily.

In the interview she opened up and told us the secret behind her winning of miss kips 2018/2019. She says in as much as modelling can be a pain in the ass, one has to keep his head high and know what he/she is gunning for. Her confidence won her lot’s of love and consideration from the judges. She says,” life is not a matter of milestones but of moments, live within the moment and make good out of it.”

Her passion for modelling was also an upper hand. She exposed the expertise she had in her. She knew what she wanted, and got what her heart passionately needed.

She vows not to cease modelling. We ask her “even when you get old?” And she says, “I will have my modelling agency by then.” What a brain!

Everyone knew what she was called
But nobody anywhere knew her name ,
She can’t be lost, cause no one ,
is looking for her,
And even if they were
How could they call her
Yet her name is not claimed
In a place where
The girl who waited to be loved-
Hate and passion were portion
Crys and shames erupt
Into her separate parts
To make it easy for her chewing laughter to swallow her all way

A long journey starts with a single step, but also, a wrong journey can start by over-thinking of what others think of you.
Proverbs 29:25 says it’s is dangerous to be concerned with what others think of you but if you trust the Lord you are safe.

Failures commence showing up in our paths when we start minding what others would think or how they would carry us. When we care less and focus on our goals one is capable of doing that what seemed impossible.

An adage goes, “those who matter dont mind, and those who mind dont matter.”

Get inspired!
