THE SECRET BEHIND MR. PWANI UNIVERSITY’S CROWN

Self-confidence is paramount on the run way. You need to have a roaring lion within you. Being crowned as a Mr. or Mrs something is not invariably a walk in the park’; the spices and ingredients to that scrumptious meal is a lot. Mr. Pwani University 2019/2020, Ambrose Ochieng Odiaga discloses the secret behind his crown.

TYM: First of all congratulations for another time making it to be the best. What really inspired the journey of contesting for Mr Pwani University

Ambrose: Thank you very much, I really appreciate. My friends saw the potential in me, you yourself can’t see the potential you have but those around you know what you can really be, my friends kept on telling me to give it a try and we did it. And managed to win because of the support they gave me.

TYM: Sounds great, is this the first time you contesting for a post like this or you tried it before?

Ambrose: It was my first time, have always wished to try it but due to lack of self confidence I would always back down and do it in the shadows like dressing other contestants.

TYM: And there goes the saying a million steps starts with a mile, though not sure of the saying, so tell me, why do you think you were the best, I mean what did you do that the other contestants didn’t do that probably made you the winner of the day?

Ambrose: I have to admit the competition was very stiff and everyone was doing their best, what made me emerge the best was that self confidence, on the runway that’s what matters you have to believe in yourself and the other thing was early preparation, the early bird catches the warm

TYM: I really love that bro, so do you have mega projects or it was just to crown and to let it be. Like a project with the crown, something like a fashion show

Ambrose: Every finish line is the beginning of a new race, there are many projects am looking forward to undertake most importantly giving back to the community.

TYM: Wow, the best vision ever is giving back to the community, what’s your advice to the youth?

Ambrose: My advice is, first you should love what you are doing and to it to your perfection don’t be scared of taking risks and the most important thing is to invest in it.

TYM: Superb
And what’s your favorite pick up line?

Ambrose: Great things take time: what i mean is that you should learn to be patient every dog has its day,you are gonna get disappointed several times but that doesn’t mean you should give up on yourself, try try and keep on trying

TYM: Very inspiring bro, and so should we expect more competition on higher levels, like being Mr Kenya and stuff like that

Ambrose: Yes expect that bro, you should learn to make one step up,take more risks you never know what lies ahead.

TYM:Master! And now that you are the face of Pwani University as a whole, what are some of the roles that you are supposed to have

Ambrose: First am the school ambassador, my role as an ambassador is to take part in advertising the institution, taking part in peer counselling, am also a leader so am also entailed to fight for comrade’s rights

TYM: Wow, great bro, dating or single? What do we tell the single ones out here.

Ambrose:(laughs) Let’s give credit where its due so I won’t shy off from saying that I have a very special person in my life, she helped build me up and she’s always my number one fan.

TYM: They’ve got it bro. Lanes should be kept.
Okay man, thanks for your time and agreeing to make it possible for the interview.

Ambrose: Pleasure is mine bro, my God bless you.
